Healthcare Reforms: Greater Challenges Ahead

Health Daily and Boussias Communications, in partnership with the Hellenic Association of Health Services Management, organize for the fifth consecutive time the most prestigious, fruitful and successful conference on healthcare policy and economics, the "Shaping the Future of Healthcare in Greece" series.

Under the auspices of the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA) and in collaboration with the Hellenic Association of Pharmaceutical Companies (SFEE) and the National School of Public Health (NSPH), this year’s event is focused on the great challenges national healthcare systems in EU and especially in Greece have to face: the question of whether the economic crisis provides a politically opportune time to drastically curtail public healthcare or whether, instead, there are signs of longer-term reform strategies for potentially balancing fiscal targets with the quest for enhanced value and health outcomes, when eventually growth resumes. A discussion on long-term sustainability and health care reforms throughout Europe for the benefit of its citizens is more than urgent, as it is timely to ensure that short-term priorities are not met at the expense of long-term value. This requires a coordinated approach and the collaboration of a broad diversity of stakeholders from across and beyond the health sector.
